Straight Up With Stassi

Are any of you Vanderpump Rules fans like me? Ever since the reality show premiered on Bravo in 2013 I've been hooked! The cast members are so funny and entertaining and it makes me miss working in a restaurant!

Anyways, recently I found out that Stassi Schroeder has her own Podcast called Straight Up With Stassi! My sister told me about it and I hadn't gotten around to listening it until this week. Now I've been listening to it on my drive to and from work everyday.

Stassi really is a natural and the perfect radio host! She has the funniest stories and also discusses current television shows like The Bachelor, etc. She also discusses the cast members on Vanderpump Rules and her experiences being part of the reality show.

Some interesting facts I've learned so far from her Podcast:

- The cast members all do their own hair and makeup for the show... except for Scheana. She hires her own makeup artist herself to do her makeup all season long for each episode that she appears on.

- Did you know that Lisa Vanderpump is actually James Kennedy's manager? Umm what? No wonder she tolerates his bad behavior so much!

- Stassi says that during the early seasons of the show, she lived off of coffee mixed with Bailey's. She wouldn't eat all day while she was serving tables at Sur, until dinner time when she would have dinner at the restaurant. She credits this as one of the ways she stayed so thin during the show.

- Her and her ex boyfriend Jax Taylor were members of the Church of Scientology for a little while.. and she is soooo embarrassed about it! Hilarious.

Stassi also discusses her latest visits to her hometown of New Orleans (which are hysterical!), her dating experiences, hosting a float at Mardi Gras, her new and bizarre techniques of losing weight, etc. She has her friends who are comedians, actors, etc. guest host with her on the show.

I have only gotten to listen to 2 episodes so far, but there are many others available on her Podcast:

So definitely give it a listen! All you have to do is download the free Podcast "Straight Up With Stassi" off of iTunes (or listen here!). I had no idea she was actually so funny! I think it's just a matter of time before Stassi lands a talk show! I had never listened to Podcasts before so this was a first for me. She also has a blog called Style by Stassi.

What do you guys think of Stassi's podcast? Are there any other fun Podcasts that you recommend?

Poshmark Review #1

Last week I told you all that I started a Poshmark account and was selling items from my closet! I am writing about it already because it has gone way better than I expected!

In one week I have already sold 4 items from my closet. Poshmark takes a percentage, but my total sales have been $138! That's a lot for one week, and honestly this has been really easy and hasn't taken much time or effort at all.

Here are the items that I have sold so far:

You can find the rest of my items for sale here. I have been adding new items almost every day!

I recommend Poshmark to anyone! I have bought many items from there and have had such a great and easy experience. It also just takes a few minutes to post an item for sale on the app. Twice I have had someone buy an item within seconds of me posting it!

Some people have questions about how shipping works on Poshmark. When you sell an item, Poshmark emails you a prepaid shipping label (which is paid for by the buyer). So all you have to do is print and tape the label to the envelope or box you're mailing it in voila! Drop it in your USPS mailbox and you're done!

Once the buyer receives your item (to make sure there are no scams) the buyer verifies they received it on the site and then your money from the sale is available on the website. You can either have Poshmark mail you a check for the money, or you can use the money for future purchases on Poshmark

Here are some of my tips for selling on Poshmark:

- Make your item stand out. I use colored tissue paper to wrap the item, and include a little hand written thank you note to the buyer. This can raise the buyers' reviews of you, and could help them remember to come back to your closet later for future purchases.

- Market your items well. You are only allowed to post 4 photos of the item on the site, but I make sure to include a photo of the label, the size tag, the logo, and the bottom of the soles of shoes. If the item is worn or damaged in any way, I try to include a photo of the scratch or describe it in the item's information section.

But....... I wanted to mention the one bad experience I have had so far on Poshmark. I have bought a few items from there (tops, a pair of jeans and shoes) but I have had one flop of a buying experience.

I bought a pair of shoes on the site even though the seller didn't respond to my question about the item. Big mistake. Although she has sold many items on there before, the seller is M.I.A. and is not responding to me. The sale is "pending", so my $45 I spent buying the shoes is frozen. The seller isn't responding and has not shipped the item to me.... the girl probably just doesn't use the site anymore and didn't delete her profile. The good news is that Poshmark allows you to cancel your purchase if the item isn't mailed to you in 7 days, but the bad news is that I can't get my money back until Sunday.

So my recommendation to all of you is that if you're buying an item, make sure the seller responds to your messages and is a live person! Otherwise your money will be stuck pending for 7 days before you can cancel the sale and get it back. You can however cancel your purchase within 3 hours of the sale, but I didn't do that... that's why I now have to wait for 7 days.

What do you guys think of Poshmark? Let me know your user name on there so we can follow each other!

Did you know that the week before Easter is the highest selling time of the year for candy? It outsells the months of Valentine's Day, Christmas, and even Halloween!

Probably because Easter candy is the cutest of all (I mean those Easter Peeps.. chocolate bunnies.. and Cadbury Creme Eggs? Who can resist?!?

"Welcome to Nashville" Video

I saw a YouTube video this morning called "Welcome to Nashville":

It has gotten over 154,122 views on YouTube since it was posted on March 20. It is pretty cheesy and silly but it did a good job of showing a few of the sites and neighborhoods around my fabulous hometown of Nashville! It has some funny jokes and it shows that there's way too many fun things to do here  ;)

The 2 men in the video are Nashville residents, Austin Bever and Colin Cooper. They are high school buddies from Cincinatti, Ohio. They opened their video production business That's Classic Media after graduating from college two years ago.

Their goal is to tell stories differently through humor or inspirational topics. They also try to give a voice to large companies and small businesses. Check out their other videos here!

They also filmed a fun promo for Moon Tax's new album, which was shot during the Live on the Green that we went to this fall (watch here)!

Hopefully they will make a part 2 of the video about the nightlife, townies, tourists or food scene here!

What did you guys think of the video?

Shop My Closet!!!

This weekend I began selling items from my closet on Poshmark. Poshmark is probably the easiest tool I've found to buy and sell clothing, jewelry, shoes, etc. Much easier than eBay. I have already bought things on there and I sold one of my items within two minutes of posting it on the site! It has a super easy app that you can use to post and sell items really quickly.

Shop my closet here!!

I will be continuing to post new items for sale and I'll let you know how the progress goes. Set up your own Poshmark account here

Let me know if you already have a Poshmark account so we can follow each other! Have you sold any items from your closet online? Let me know how it went below!

Portofino Tops Are Now Sleeveless!!

My very favorite button-down tops, the Portofino, are made by Express. They are my go-to tops for work and they are such a great price (I have written about them before here and here)!

Express is constantly coming out with new prints and patterns in the Portofino style. I just realized last week that they now make the Portofino in a sleeveless option:

1  /  2  /  3  / 4

Just in time for spring! Click on the numbers above to shop. I want one of each! They would look perfect with a skirt, jeans, or colored pants...

They are much less expensive than similar versions at Nordstrom or other department stores. Let me know what y'all think of the tops!

Happy Friday,

Introducing.. The Perfect White Tee

I have told y'all before about the best sweater, the best white jeans, best tank tops, the best shirts for work, and even the best face lotion....

Well now I must tell you about the best white tee..... and it costs under $20!! A white tee is a staple for every woman's closet because there are so many ways you can wear it!

It can be dressed up or down... throw on a blazer or leather jacket and you look dressy! Wear it with leggings or jeans for a road trip or airplane ride.. throw on a maxi skirt and you look hippie chic! You can even wear it with sweatpants while you're doing laundry.

Here's some outfit options I found for wearing a white tee:

After reading about the perfect white tee on Ali Luvs, I knew it was worth ordering and gave the Madewell tee a try.. and now I'm hooked:

For fit reference, here are some pics Ali Fedotowski from Ali Luvs posted wearing the tee:

This Whisper Cotton V-neck Tee is by Madewell and has gotten fantastic reviews. It has the perfect v-neck cut. It is the most light, comfy material you'll ever wear. The sleeves aren't too short, and it is long enough to cover a lengthy torso. It is slightly sheer but doesn't need a camisole. It is also the perfect fit.. slightly slouchy like it is tailor made.. and doesn't attract static like so many of my tops!

I'm obsessed! I ordered a medium and it fits perfect! Since they're all priced between $17 and $19.50, I went on to order it in three other colors - in blue (heather indigo), light gray (heather marble), and darker gray (heather pewter).

Here is Kendall Jenner wearing the tee in the light gray (heather marble) color:

Madewell has it available in 12 colors, and Nordstrom carries it in 8 colors. You can order from either of them with FREE SHIPPING! Shirts of this quality usually cost at least $60 at other stores so it's truly a deal since you can wear them with anything year round!

All you Nashvillians, don't forget that we have a Madewell store in the Green Hills mall.. so stop in and try them on for yourself!

What do you guys think of the tees? Where did you get your favorite tee from? Let me know below!

The Bachelor: Finale

As you've probably already heard by now..... The Bachelor Ben Higgins picked Lauren Bushnell in The Bachelor season finale... you can read a funny recap of the episode here.

This was definitely the most suspenseful and dramatic finale of The Bachelor that I've ever seen.. This is because it was one of the most drama filled seasons in Bachelor/ Bachelorette history. Even though I cheated and read the spoiler website Reality Steve for the last few weeks, I still wasn't sure who he would pick (and side note: Reality Steve has been wrong before so you never really know what will happen).

This is how this season was different from past seasons:

- Ben Higgins told both Lauren and Jojo that he loves them. In all past seasons, it has been a strict rule that the Bachelor or Bachelorette is not allowed to tell any of the contestants he loves them, even if they want to say it back to someone. This is because it can ruin the surprise for the audience and they'll know who he/she will choose in the end of the show and therefore.. nobody will watch the season finale.

- It is debatable whether Ben slipped up and broke the rules completely, or if the producers changed the rules this season and told Ben to just go with his feelings and say whatever he chooses to the women.

- Either way, Ben was the definition of a "player" or "two timer" this season because he completely led on both girls. He kept telling both girls that he loved them over and over. He kept crying to the audience making it clear that he absolutely could not choose between them. It was definitely emotionally exhausting to watch!!

Anyways, I agree with most of American viewers when I say that he should have chosen Jojo. I mean just look at her dress during the night of the finale:

If I thought I was showing up to possibly get dumped in front of millions of viewers, I would want to be looking my very best too. Great look, Jojo!

I also think Jojo is very genuine and had a much more vivacious, fun and spunky personality than Lauren. But then again, Ben appears to have a boring personality and doesn't usually have much to say.. so he and Lauren can be a blah couple together. It is also odd that Ben kept saying Jojo was his "best friend" .. but he still picked Lauren instead (?!?!?)

His proposal was a snooze, and Lauren's reaction and comments afterwards made me cringe a little bit because they both sounded like airheads (Lauren kept saying "you're my personnnnnn" over and over ugh). It also gave me a headache because Ben had been telling us for weeks how much he also loved Jojo. Usually I am excited for the final couple, but I  really don't think Ben and Lauren will last long  :(

But.. there's good news!!! Jojo will be the next Bachelorette!

Now she has a chance to find someone better than Ben Higgins!!!!!! Reality Steve was correct... first, Bachelor producers had chosen Caila to be the next Bachelorette.. they flew out to Ohio to do a Bachelorette photo shoot with her. Then on Thursday, they called Caila to say they were choosing Jojo instead. I feel bad for Caila, but Jojo will make much better tv. I am already looking forward to watching Ms. Jojo on The Bachelorette!

What did you guys think of the finale???

My Thoughts on The Bachelor (Ben's Season)

On Monday is The Bachelor Finale.. have any of you been watching? This has been a disappointing season from my perspective. Ben keeps sending all my favorite girls home, and now he has told BOTH women that he loves them, which is really MEAN! But we all know he is going to propose to SOMEBODY on Monday since he has been telling everyone he will in recent interviews.

I really hope that Ben picks Jojo! I love her sassy southern personality and I think her whole drama with her ex boyfriend showing up this season showed a loveable and relatable side to her. I hope he doesn't pick Lauren.. yes she is good looking, but I haven't heard her say anything funny or clever the whole season. She does not have dimension to her.. so if Ben does pick Lauren I don't think it will last. She is a pretty flight attendant, and she is nice and drama free.. but that can get boring after a while for anyone!

ALSO: I have been hearing that Caila will be the next Bachelorette...

Please, no!! If this is true, this will be the worst Bachelorette season in the history of the show. She seems like a nice lady, but she belongs on Bachelor in Paradise or another season of The Bachelor.

It just wouldn't be realistic for 25 men to be fighting over her when she isn't gorgeous, funny, rich or entertaining! There are sooooooooo many other girls who would make an amazing Bachelorette.. like Becca, Jubilee, Jojo or either of the twins Emily or Haley. Amanda, the mom with the two kids, would even make a better Bachelorette than Caila in my opinion.

Let me know who you want Ben to choose, and who you want the next Bachelorette to be!!

Gap & Old Navy SALE!!

Spring is almost here! It's starting to look like the groundhog was right once again! When it looks like spring, I can't help but start going into a shopping frenzy. Spring is my favorite time of year! If you're like me, you're wanting to get some new springy clothes without spending too much!

Gap is having their Friends & Family sale from March 9 - 14! Until Monday you get 40% off everything with the code FFBEST! Something fun about Gap is that they have the absolute best and most affordable boot cut jeans for men. I've bought Adam a couple pairs over the years as gifts, so if you're looking for a fun gift for the men in your life, give this place a look! I still don't why most stores only sell skinny jeans for men nowadays?

I go on and on about my love for Old Navy. They have the absolute BEST workout gear, leggings, yoga pants, and dresses! They are also having a sale today - 35% off everything today, and 30% off everything tomorrow. No code is needed!

Banana Republic is having an extra 40% off all sale items, and your discount will be taken at the checkout.

FYI..... these three companies are sister companies, so if you ever hear that one of these is having a sale, check the other two companies too. They usually all have sales at once. I've been patiently waiting for LOFT to have a big sale because I've been eyeing a lot of their stuff the past couple weeks....

Have y'all heard of any other sales going on this week? If so, let me know!

Erin Andrews Trial Verdict

It's been a pretty crazy two weeks here in downtown Nashville while the Erin Andrews trial has been going on. For many days we had zero parking in our paid parking garage because of cars in town from the media, and the Davidson County Courthouse has been flooded with television cameras on several floors every day.

Yesterday, the jury announced their decision that the hotel was at fault and awarded her with their decision of what dollar amount Ms. Andrews should be awarded from the Marriott Hotel.

And the amount they decided was......... $55 million. I know it was a horrible and traumatic experience for her, and I felt horrible for her but... $55 million dollars? Most wrongful death cases are awarded at most around $3 million. People who wrongfully lose their limbs or have traumatic brain injuries are usually awarded less money than wrongful death verdicts

I don't know how they came up with that insanely high amount. I personally didn't hear any evidence shown that her career was damaged by the incident. I had never known Erin Andrews' name until 2009 when someone was telling me about her hotel room video incident, so I could argue that the incident helped her career.

Despite the stalking incident, she has been very successful. She may be heckled sometimes at sporting events by college students, etc. about the video, but she is still a very famous, successful journalist and did not lose her career over what happened. The video was taken of her through her hotel door peephole, so the videos and photographs taken were grainy and horrible quality and I couldn't even tell it was her.

Also, I didn't hear much evidence that the hotel was completely responsible for what happened. The criminal did a lot of tricky sneaking around in order for him to find out her room number. They didn't just outright tell him her room number..... he asked them to call Erin Andrews for him and he saw her room number come up on the hotel hostess' computer screen. No hotel I've ever heard of has had a security person on every floor of a hotel patrolling each floor for criminals so, I'm not sure how much the hotel could have done to prevent what happened.

Don't get me wrong.. I do believe she should have been awarded damages for emotional distress, etc. but I think that $55 million is WAY too much for someone who is still a successful, beautiful celebrity sports reporter, who before the trial verdict had a yearly salary of around $800,000, had a net worth of $3 - 4 million, and is still a television host. I know I didn't hear the 2 weeks of testimony, but from what I heard she should have been awarded between $1 million and $2 million....

What are your thoughts on the trial verdict... do you guys agree with the jury's decision of $55 million?

Bachelorette Weekend in Charleston

It was a fun weekend celebrating Kristin in Charleston, South Carolina! I won't be able to attend her wedding in St. Johns, BVI so I was really happy to be able to spend time with her before her wedding.

On Friday night we stayed in a beach house on Kiawah Island, and on Saturday night we stayed at a historic plantation called Middleton Place. I'll write a whole post on Middleton Place sometime soon because its such an amazing piece of history that you must visit while in The Lowcountry.

Anyways, here are some of my favorite pics from the weekend:

Loved these napkins!
